RoboBowling Challenge

Love robots? Ever wondered how it is like to control one? Here’s your chance! Creative Minds presents the RoboBowling Challenge, held in conjunction with the 6th Private and International School Fair.

The challenge requires you to control a robot, whose sole purpose of existence is to knock down bowling pins using - you guessed it - a bowling ball. Of course, it’s not that simple! First, you will be given the option to select from 1 of 3 bowling robots, each designed to bowl differently. Then you will have to maneuver the robot to pick up the bowling ball before attempting to bowl the pins through a challenging course.

We understand that this will be your first time, and as such, you will be provided 3 attempts in the challenge and your best score is recorded. Participants with the 3 highest scores will walk away with cool prizes.

The RoboBowling Challenge will be held on 7 November 2015, from 11.30am to 12.30pm and 8 November 2015, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. Register your interest at Creative Minds’ booth (#160) at the 6th Private and International School Fair. Hurry, slots are limited!

Music Advocates

Learn why kids who are given proper music education do academically better in school, have better concentration, less stress, are more creative and innovative, more articulate and socially confident, and have higher levels of self-esteem and feelings of accomplishment.

Music Advocates will be presenting two slots during the fair. The first one on Saturday titled “The Art of Musical Storytelling” involves a brief talk on the benefits of music to children’s development” by Dr. Indra Selvarajah; a session on how to be a conductor; “Musical Storytelling” with live storytelling and instrumental sound effects – an interactive activity; a jazz performance and a lecture recital. This interesting and fun-filled slot aims to show how music helps children develop communication skills, social skills and emotional regulation.

The slot on Sunday is titled “Journey into Musical Imagination” includes a brief talk on the benefits of music to children’s development by Dr. Indra Selvarajah; a session on a journey into musical imagination - an interactive activity; “Come join our choir!” a live choir demonstration and an interactive activity; a string quartet performance and a lecture recital. Come learn how music helps children’s imagination and spirit of innovation to soar.

Meet us during the PISF KL Nov 2015!

The 'Air' Experiment

Air pressure is one of those things that are strange because we can't see it, yet it is really powerful. It holds up airplanes, blows down trees, etc. Gakken Classroom will show you how a real giant hovercraft works!

Our instructor will be presenting spectacular and action-packed experiments using 'air'. We will explore the weight of air and how powerful an air vortex is.

Through fun activities, Gakken Classroom inspires kids ages 4 to 12 to explore and learn about the amazing world of science. Gakken Science Experiment Classroom has a history of more than 60 years, and we have developed a proprietary, Japanese syllabus-based and proven curriculum designed to inspire young kids in science.

Come join us for fun and engaging science experiments on 7 Nov 2015 (Saturday) from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

Maze Runners

Does your child communicate well with you? Does your child have good concentration and is able to pay attention? To find out, participate in “Maze Runners” a fun activity by Genius Mind Academy on 8 November (Sunday) at 11.30am. Maze Runners is a team-based game. Each team consists of a child (who is blindfolded) and his or her parent, and will compete with another team. The objective of the game is to determine the child's communication, senses and concentration skills. During the game, each child will be asked to walk around some cones while his or her parent gives instructions. This activity is open to children between 6 and 12 years old. Children who participate must be accompanied by their mother, father or guardian. Please register at our booth (#135) if you would like to participate in this activity.

Test Your Higher Order Thinking Skills

Do you really hate math? Or are you just tired of doing the same things the same way over and over again, just like you were taught at school? Zap Zap Math is going to boost your higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) at the 6th Private and International School Fair.

For our activity, there will be four corners with different higher-order thinking skills puzzles and games. Your challenge is to solve each of them before the time runs out. Kids will have a lot of fun figuring how to solve these tricky puzzles.

HOTS will improve your creative and problem solving skills, which are very useful skills to have when trying to solve daily problems.

Come join us on 7 November 2015, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm and 8 November 2015, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. Register yourself at our Zap Zap Math booth (#126 & #127) at the 6th Private and International School Fair. Slots are limited!

Speech & Drama Workshop

Morris Allen will be having a speech and drama workshop on Saturday, 7 November 2015, 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

The Morris Allen English Speech & Drama workshop is a fun and interactive session that allows children to express themselves through games, mime, poetry and more.

This workshop is activity based and will definitely build a range of new skills that help your child to become a more confident and outgoing speaker of English.

Games which develop memory and creative thinking skills and theatre skits to build confidence and improve communication skills are all part of the fun. Action poems and ‘tongue twisters’ allow students to express themselves and improve their understanding and pronunciation of the English language.
