Established in 2020, Ballet Theatre Malaysia was founded to address the lack of professional opportunities for local dancers.

While Malaysia is home to numerous ballet schools that train young dancers, there has long been no avenue for those wishing to progress further and pursue ballet professionally.

Traditionally, aspiring dancers have sought training abroad through scholarships, sponsorships, or parental support — opportunities that are often out of reach for many. As a result, much local talent has remained untapped.

Ballet Theatre Malaysia was founded to change that.
