PRIVATE EDUCATION CONFERENCE LAUNCHES IN HONG KONG

British Consulate General, 22-23 November 2012

The only global conference to address the business issues of international and private schools has announced that it is to launch in Hong Kong. Following four successful editions in London the International and Private Schools Education Forum (IPSEF Asia) will be held in Hong Kong on 22-23 November.

This unique conference draws together senior figures from schools, governments, and businesses who are responsible for planning, managing, delivering, and supplying major international educational projects.  ‘What IPSEF Asia does is not only impart a lot of valuable information on market trends, but how to deliver a complex educational project. Ultimately we want to help delegates forge powerful and effective partnerships in order to deliver major school projects that deliver great education’, said IPSEF Director Mark Roelofsen.

IPSEF Asia delegates transcend the sector, he said, and typically include representatives from government, school owners and school groups, finance and private equity, law, architecture, curriculum providers, consultants, teacher recruitment companies, and publishers, amongst others.

Fellow IPSEF Director, Rhona Greenhill, said ‘the growth of the international school market, as well as local private schools, is running at over 6% per annum, according to ISC Research and is set to double within about 10 years. That equates to some 11,000 schools, with over 500,000 staff educating 6.2m students. South East Asia is a key driver of that growth and it is sensible to run IPSEF in the regions where growth is strongest’.

Having secured the participation of a range of leading players in local and regional private education, including school groups, private equity firms, architects and curriculum and awarding bodies IPSEF Asia will appeal to anyone investing in a new school project, as well as commercial companies and consultants with expertise in the education sector. ‘We have developed a programme that will be attractive to people across ASEAN, so anyone thinking of entering the education market, or considering expanding their existing operation in their home territory or overseas will benefit from their presence’ said Ms Greenhill
